Spa: cloudy water

Cause

• Organic contaminant build-up;

• Particles in suspension;

• High pH;

• High total alkalinity;

• Elevated hardness;

• Inadequate filtration;

• High level of dissolved solids;

• Low total alkalinity.

Reason

• Administer shock treatment;

• Add clarifier;

• Add pH reducer to bring it 7.2 to 7.6;

• Add hydrochloric acid to reach 80 to 150 ppm;

• Remove some water or if the problem is from a well, add "Tarte Secure". Or you can try to add descaler, circulate water softener until hardness is at 150 to 280 ppm;

• Wash dirty filter with cartridge cleaner;

• Empty spa and re-fill;

• Adjust alkalinity.
